DAVID HENIG, ESQ. is a Senior Counsel at McGregor Law Group PC, where he represents businesses, individuals, municipalities, and others in complex civil litigation in environmental, land use, zoning, real estate, and administrative and court appeals across Massachusetts. Mr. Henig has represented developers and other applicants appearing before Zoning Boards, Planning Boards, Conservation Commissions, and Select Boards. He served as Assistant Town Counsel for the Towns of Norwell, Stoneham, and Marshfield, Assistant Land Use Counsel for the Town of Rockland, and counsel to the Plymouth and Marshfield Airport Commissions and the Everett School Committee. Before entering civil practice, Mr. Henig spent nearly five years as an Assistant District Attorney in the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office, including in the Domestic Violence Bureau and Trial Bureau 40, where he handled over 500 misdemeanor and felony cases, giving him a strong foundation in courtroom advocacy, trial preparation, and case management that he brings to his civil litigation practice today. Consequently, Mr. Henig handles legal matters from permitting to appeals, from contracts to compliance, from injunctions to money damages, and from simple to complex in the Supreme Judicial Court, Superior Court, and District Courts. Mr. Henig is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and New York, as well as before the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. He is a graduate of the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University and served as Communications Editor of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) Law Journal. He is a member of the Real Estate Bar Association for Massachusetts, the Plymouth County Bar Association, and the Plymouth District Bar Association. His recent noteworthy litigation has been work on the Holtec Pilgrim LLC matter on a nuclear power plant decommissioning breach of contract dispute; appeal under the MBTA Communities Act when it was before the Supreme Judicial Court; multiple licensing appeals involving the Towns of Stoneham, Marshfield and Norwell; local bylaw enforcement including prosecuting conservation, zoning and health violations; recovering money damages for the Commonwealth for fraud by former law enforcement personnel; appeals involving Chapter 40B affordable housing projects;  and various cases about mixed-use development communities across the Commonwealth.
