SPEAKER: Gregor McGregor, Esq. | Partner | McGregor Law Group, PC

Gregor McGregor is a former MACC Director and environmental attorney whose law firm, McGregor Law Group, PC, is likely the oldest environmental law firm in New England. It handles environmental law, land use, real estate, and related litigation. His court cases, including several for MACC as amicus, have created precedents on municipal Home Rule powers, wetland and floodplain protection, land preservation and taxation, law enforcement, Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA) and Environmental Impact Reports (EIRs), Article 97 and other open space protections, and the law of Regulatory Takings. Before 1975, Greg was an Assistant Attorney General and the first chief of the Massachusetts Attorney General's Division of Environmental Protection. For 18 years he served on the Wellesley Natural Resources Commission (NRC), which is the only elected Conservation Commission, and has been president of MACC twice. He graduated from Dartmouth College and Harvard Law School. Greg has taught many workshops at MACC’s conferences, responded to Helpline Questions, helped to update the E-Handbook, and was an integral part of the MACC Board of Directors for 50 years. In 2020, he received MACC’s prestigious Long-Time Environmental Service Award.
